CombatAUS is incredibly proud to be selected as a finalist for the Win Well Award at the 2024 Australian Institute of Sport Performance Awards.
The Win Well Award recognises the organisation or high performance program that most embodies the vision of Australia’s High Performance 2032+ Sport Strategy: we win well to inspire Australians.
Since establishment in 2020, CombatAUS has embodied the values of Win Well by balancing ambitious performance goals with a culture of care, integrity, fair play and pride.
Win Well emphasises that sustainable success in sport is built on a foundation of physical, mental, emotional, and cultural wellbeing. CombatAUS has embraced this approach enthusiastically, ensuring that athletes, coaches, and staff are supported in all aspects of their lives – not just during their performance on the mat or in the ring.
CEO Alex Vallentine is proud to see CombatAUS recognised for a strong commitment to the Win Well values: “CombatAUS was established with an athlete centric approach, we aim to develop individuals who are good people first and great athletes.”
“We have a dedicated focus on athlete wellbeing and safety, we prioritise the ‘athlete voice’ to ensure they are considered in decision making and we aim to unlock the full potential of athletes.”
“Everyone involved at CombatAUS, from the Board, to staff, coaches and the athlete group are committed to the Win Well pledge and we demonstrate that in our behaviours and all of our activity,” he said.
CombatAUS is honoured to be recognised by the AIS for our commitment to Win Well and we look forward to commencing the LA2028 Olympic cycle with Win Well continuing to be at the core of our programs.
The 2024 AIS Sport Performance Awards will be held in Melbourne on Wednesday 4th December, where the winner of the Win Well Award will be announced.
